Design
Thermal Xtra Board (TXB) is Lightweight, Non-combustible and Fire Resistant board, specifically designed for use in wall covers and splashbacks in commercial kitchens, providing optimal protection against heat in the dynamic and high-temperature world of commercial kitchens.
Conveniently sized at 2200mm x 1200mm x 15mm, the TXB is easy to install under commercial kitchen canopies.
Manufacturing
Fire boards are produced through a wet forming process that uses alkaline earth silicate and different binders in corresponding proportions. Their superior mechanical properties, lower thermal conductivity, and high-temperature stability make them highly reliable.
The Fire Resistant boards are asbestos-free and have been tested in accordance with AS 4964-2004 in a NATA-accredited laboratory.
Compliance with Standards
The Thermal Xtra Board (TXB) has undergone comprehensive testing by reputable organizations CSIRO and AWTA. These tests ensure that the board meets the stringent requirements for safety and performance.
Fire-resistant boards have been tested to comply with the standards outlined in AS/NZS 1530.3:1999. This standard specifically evaluates the fire resistance of building materials when exposed to specified laboratory fire conditions.
The TXB aligns with the requirements of AS/NZS 5601:1:2013
Appendix C, which focuses on surfaces adjacent to commercial kitchen appliances. This conformity ensures that the board is suitable for use in proximity to such appliances, meeting the safety standards set by Energy Safe Victoria.
Installation
Installation of the Fire Resistant Boards must adhere to the guidelines outlined in AS/NZS 5601 PART 1.
